Currently in Texasville Duane, a bankrupt owner of any oil company is planning the tow of Thalia, Texas' centennial. Already he has planned for the town to have a pageant, and the debate has been over who to hire and what all the pageant will encompass. Some people want the pageant to go all the way back to the creation of Earth and some don't.
I feel like these are typical small town issues and problems. For example the city of Houston wouldn't have a pageant for a centennial celebration and wouldn't debate who to hire, because Houston nearly has 5 million people living in it. I have always wanted to live in a small town it's just so laid back, small, and cozy. I have been to many small towns and have spent some time in small towns.
Lane, this sounds like a very intriguing book. I have also wanted to live in a small town because everybody knows everybody and that's what I like.
